The script – Jon Spaihts(Prometheus) wrote the most recent draft – in which a starship transporting human cargo to a colony malfunctions, causing one passenger (Reeves) to prematurely thaw from a cryogenic slumber nearly a century before anyone else. Not wanting to be alone, he decides to wake up another passenger, a female.
Not exactly Across the Universe, but sort of a little too...

Amy was cryogenically frozen with her parents and placed aboard Godspeed, a spaceship that is taking humans to a new planet. Elder lives on Godspeed, as decedent of the original humans placed on the ship to keep things running during the 300 years it takes to arrive at the new planet....
